Meeting of Creditors

341 Information

Debtors filing for bankruptcy protection are required to attend a meeting of creditors, which is a brief informal meeting held on the 5th floor, room 557 of theStrom Thurmond Federal Building. This meeting gives the Bankruptcy Trustee and any creditors in your case the opportunity to ask you questions. Your attorney will have discussed this in detail with you beforehand and will also be there to answer any questions you may have and guide you through this process.

Please remember to bring the following documents to this meeting:
  • Picture I.D.
  • Original Social Security Card
  • Copy of your most recent pay stub.
  • Copies of bank statements for all your accounts.
  • Please not that your bank statements should include activity through the date your case was filed.

You should plan to arrive at the building 45 minutes earlier than your scheduled meeting time to account for any delays in parking or passing through the security checkpoint.  Parking around the building is very limited, however there are several public parking garages just across Assembly street.  If you have any questions about this or any issue with your case please do not hesitate to contact Brunson Law.
